Strategic Plan 2018-2022
The Town Council is currently working on its new Strategic Plan, to guide its work from now until 2022. Alongside the major projects in the pipeline, including the new cemetery and public realm work, there are five main themes to the Plan: A safe and healthy community; Open for business; Where everybody has the opportunity to thrive; Cultural Corsham, and A sustainable future/gaining the most from sustainable growth. The Plan is still at the draft stage, with more review and consideration to come, but the objectives within each them have been prioritised and a workplan and timescales will be put together over the next few weeks.
Parkour Facility/Outdoor Gym
The Parkour (free-running) facility has opened at Springfield Rec and is proving a huge success with locals and visitors alike. Parkour groups from Trowbridge, Bristol and Calne have been to Corsham to use it, and we hope members from the groups will be able to offer coaching sessions there in the near future. The parkour will be officially opened at the Summer Fete on 7 July, at around 12.15pm. Work on the outdoor gym will start in early July – we wanted to get the Fete out of the way first – and should progress quickly enough for the gym to be available to use before the end of the summer holidays.
Taste of Corsham, Summer Fete, and next it’s the Street Fair, back in the town centre, from 12-4pm on Saturday, 15 September. It will be the usual mix of stalls, entertainment, great food and fun and games. Watch out for more details coming soon.
